The day hell froze over

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:02 pm

Yep, that’s right – the day none of us thought would ever happen actually happened, I got married. Last Friday Nickey and I flew to Vegas and got married in the Little White Chapel!! Woo-hoo! Hey, what can I say? I found Ms Wow and couldn’t let her get away.

It was a great weekend too. We were a bit rushed on Friday night because we didn’t quite plan enough enough time to get from the airport, to the car rental, to the courthouse to get the license, back to the hotel to check in, change, then get the limo to the chapel. We landed at 8:30pm and were supposed to be getting married at 10:30, but it turns out we underestimated by about 45 minutes and got married at 11:15ish instead. After the ceremony the limo driver drove us back to our hotel (the Excalibur – because it was a Fairy Tale romance from the beginning) where we walked around the casino and played slots in our wedding garb. We got a lot of congratulatory wishes along the way. I have to admit, neither of us wanted to take off our wedding clothes!! Her gown was absolutely gorgeous and she had the Audry Hepburn tiara, ear rings and necklace – Wow! We ordered room service at about 2am and stayed up until about 3:30am that night. Here’s a picture from our wedding:

The next day we went to the Kings Buffet, then walked through the Luxor and Mandalay Bay casinos/hotels, then back to New York New York to ride the roller coaster and hit a few more slots. We got tickets for Zumanity for that night, that was a trippy show. It’s like Cirque du Soleil, but naked. We also drove up and down the Las Vegas Blvd and went shopping at an outlet mall. Sunday we had to be at the airport by 11am so we only had time to go to the MGM Grand and have breakfast, gas up the rental then head to the airport.

If you want to watch the ceremony it can be viewed here. It’s about 10M and it’s a really low quality video. I think it was recorded on a small personal camcorder, copied onto a VHS tape, then streamed from the VHS tape to the internet – so don’t blame me for the quality 🙂
