Alright, alright….I’ll update

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:32 pm

Well, lesse. After Vegas it’s all kind of a blur.

Nickey has been on a painting kick at home lately. She painted Hayden’s room in a kind of Light Buzzyear theme. It’s a darker blue with little rocket and planet accents on the walls and glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling. She also painted the living room (relaxing blue I think) and the area between the living room and dining room (cottage white). She ran out of time or she would have painted the dining room too (something like cocoa brown I think). She did re-arrange the furniture so I felt a little out of place – I am a creature of habbit and a little set in my ways after all – but it’s getting back to feeling like normal again. She does do a good job of changing a house into a home.

Hayden has been plagued by allergies this week and the poor guy is nothing but snot and eye boogers. Couldn’t help myself, I had to put that :). Nickey hasn’t been feeling well either but I think they are both starting to come out of it. We aren’t planning on doing much this weekned, partly because I’m primary on-call (dammit!), so hopefully they will be able to get out from under their respective ailments.

We’re going to see Hayden’s grandparents next week for Easter – it’ll be the first time I meet my new in-laws. We had a really great conversation on the phone last night though and we’re all excited to go see them. Hayden is pretty excited to see the “heh-heh’s” (horses) and wanted to wear his heh-heh pants to school today, these cute little Wrangler jeans.

I have a BUNCH of new pictures I need to resize and alter then put up in the gallery. I’ve been a little behind on getting those up. I hope to have them up by Monday if I can.

Thanks to Gil, Cynthia, and Jimmy for the kind comments and wishes!!

And finally, I need to correct an oversight on my part. I forgot to put a link to our friend/”sister” Heather’s blog on my list of links, so here you go! Sorry Heather!!

Wedding video

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:15 pm

I heard that some people are having a hard time playing the wedding video. You can access the video by opening your video player (Windows media player, mplayer, xine, etc….) and use http://www.eskimo.com/~totem/Images/CN/chrisandnickey.wmv as the location. Let me know if anyone continues to have problems with it. Again – don’t complain to me about the quality, I didn’t have anything to do with that part of it. I’m just offering it up for your viewing pleasure 🙂

The day hell froze over

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:02 pm

Yep, that’s right – the day none of us thought would ever happen actually happened, I got married. Last Friday Nickey and I flew to Vegas and got married in the Little White Chapel!! Woo-hoo! Hey, what can I say? I found Ms Wow and couldn’t let her get away.

It was a great weekend too. We were a bit rushed on Friday night because we didn’t quite plan enough enough time to get from the airport, to the car rental, to the courthouse to get the license, back to the hotel to check in, change, then get the limo to the chapel. We landed at 8:30pm and were supposed to be getting married at 10:30, but it turns out we underestimated by about 45 minutes and got married at 11:15ish instead. After the ceremony the limo driver drove us back to our hotel (the Excalibur – because it was a Fairy Tale romance from the beginning) where we walked around the casino and played slots in our wedding garb. We got a lot of congratulatory wishes along the way. I have to admit, neither of us wanted to take off our wedding clothes!! Her gown was absolutely gorgeous and she had the Audry Hepburn tiara, ear rings and necklace – Wow! We ordered room service at about 2am and stayed up until about 3:30am that night. Here’s a picture from our wedding:

The next day we went to the Kings Buffet, then walked through the Luxor and Mandalay Bay casinos/hotels, then back to New York New York to ride the roller coaster and hit a few more slots. We got tickets for Zumanity for that night, that was a trippy show. It’s like Cirque du Soleil, but naked. We also drove up and down the Las Vegas Blvd and went shopping at an outlet mall. Sunday we had to be at the airport by 11am so we only had time to go to the MGM Grand and have breakfast, gas up the rental then head to the airport.

If you want to watch the ceremony it can be viewed here. It’s about 10M and it’s a really low quality video. I think it was recorded on a small personal camcorder, copied onto a VHS tape, then streamed from the VHS tape to the internet – so don’t blame me for the quality 🙂
